Science Week – The Y Scientist
This month at MPHCCC we acknowledged National Science Week.
National Science Week is an opportunity for children to explore science and be inspired and fascinated.
Our educators programmed experiments, play spaces, they read books and used nature and technology to introduce the children to the wonderful world of science.
Our Pre-School Council
This Year we have founded our first Kindergarten Pre-School Council. The Kindergarten Pre-School Council provides the children with opportunities to practice communication skills, voting, decision making, and implementation of events/activities.
Our Kindergarten Pre-School Council meet regularly to have their say and share ideas on matters that affect them.
So far, our Pre-School Council have ordered new resources for the Centre and voted on celebrating World Buddy Day. They chose to invite the Busy Butterfly children to be their buddies and planned experiences for them.
Next on the council agenda, the children will plan and organise our Father’s Day afternoon by choosing decorations and snacks to provide.
Traffic light sandwiches
Traffic light sandwiches are a fun and healthy meal to make with your children, while also learning about road safety.
Traffic lights sandwiches recipe:
You will need the following ingredients.
🍞Sliced bread
🍅Sliced cherry tomatoes
🥬Lettuce
🧀Cheese
Cut the crusts off your slice of bread. Cut 3 holes in the bread (we used a bottle lid to make the holes)
Then place one ingredient in each hole to create your very own edible traffic light.
The very last step is to enjoy your delicious and educational sandwiches.
