Take a Virtual Tour
Our centre
Mill Park Heights Childcare Centre is next to Mill Park Leisure Centre on Morang Drive, close to Mill Park Primary School, Stables Shopping Centre and Westfield Plenty Valley.
Our curriculum reflects the National Quality Framework and the Victoria Early Years Learning Frameworks. We aim to create a welcoming, warm and loving environment, allowing the children to feel comfortable and eager to learn and grow.
The centre has 5 rooms offering long day-care and integrated kindergarten* catering for children 6 weeks old to 6 years old.
The newly renovated yard lets the children enjoy a large thriving educational hub. Children and educators helped design the yard to promote psychological and physical health.
The vibrant area includes:
- a sandpit
- cubby house
- outdoor chalkboard
- miniature road
- water play
- age-appropriate play equipment
- a yarning circle for story time and Acknowledgement of Country.
The centre also has a veggie patch where we teach children about the importance of sustainability and the environment.
Connecting to the local community
Our children become connected to the local community. Educator-led community walks encourage them to talk about what they experience. We also offer Bush Kinder where the children learn through interacting with the natural environment in a local park. The children learn about our local produce, the cost and value of the groceries and healthy eating during trips to the local Woolworths.
Creating open lines of communication
We use Storypark to help track children’s development and share information about upcoming events and happenings at the centre. Storypark allows us to deepen relationships with families and children by creating an open line of communication. Parents are also welcome to check in with our educators at drop-off and pick-up.
Providing nutritious meals
We prepare nutritious meals so our children have plenty of energy to learn and play. Their favourites include pasta bolognese, shepherd’s pie and tuna pasta bake. The children love our hearty winter soups: chicken and vegetable, Thai sweet potato and potato and leek. Sometimes we get adventurous and cook butter chicken and fish and potato curry!
*Children in our integrated Kindergarten program must attend at least 2 days to meet the minimum 15 hours for a Kindergarten program.

Geny
Centre Manager
My Name is Geny and I have worked for the Y in multiple educator roles and management roles for over 20 years.
My current role is the Centre director for Mill Park Heights Childcare Centre and The Heights Kindergarten.
My passion is to ensure all children are empowered and have a voice in a safe, nurturing, inclusive environment.
Building strong relationships with families and children is a huge focus for the team. We work together to ensure all children in our care are provided with rich learning experiences and are given life skills to take with them after their early years journey.
I hope every child in our care leaves us with great memories of their time with us and looks back at the team as positive role models.
