Mill Park Child Care

Mill Park Heights Childcare Centre is situated next to Mill Park Leisure Centre on Morang Drive and located close to Mill Park Primary School, Stables Shopping Centre and Westfield Plenty Valley.

Our curriculum has been built to reflect both the National Quality Framework and the Victoria Early Years Learning Frameworks. We aim to create a welcoming, warm and loving environment, allowing the children to feel comfortable and eager to learn and grow. Our educators create an environment where children will feel a sense of belonging and enable them to become their best self.

Mill Park Heights Childcare Centre has 5 rooms offering long day care and integrated kindergarten* catering for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years old.

Our newly renovated yard provides a large thriving educational hub for the children to enjoy. Included in the design of the new yard were the children and educators who helped to ensure the outdoor environment promotes the health, both psychologically and physically of each child. This was achieved by focusing on the key outcome areas of safety, warmth and care, connection and community whilst acknowledging the traditional owners of the land.

The vibrant area includes a sandpit, cubby house, outdoor chalk board, miniature road, water play, age appropriate play equipment, a yarning circle for story time and Acknowledgement to Country and our very own veggie patch where we teach children about the importance of sustainability and the environment.

Our children become connected to the community around MPHCC. Educators lead groups in community walks which provides the opportunity for them to talk about what they see and learn about the world around us. We also offer Bush Kinder where the children and educators walk to our local park area and learn through using the natural environment to create. Our centre visits our local Woolworths and the children can learn about our local produce, the cost and value of the groceries we purchase and learn all about healthy eating.

We use Storypark to help record your child’s development and share information about upcoming events and happenings at the centre. The Storypark platform allows us to deepen relationships between educators, families and children by creating an open line of communication. Parents are also welcome to check in with our educators at drop off and pick up times if they have any questions or just want to chat!

We provide nutritious meals which are prepared on site to make sure our children have plenty of energy to learn and play. Some of the usual favourites are Pasta Bolognese, Shepherd’s Pie and Tuna Pasta Bake. The children love our hearty soups in the winter such as Chicken & Vegetable, Thai Sweet Potato and Potato & Leek. Sometimes we get a bit adventurous with dishes like Butter Chicken and Fish & Potato Curry!

*Children who attend our integrated Kindergarten program are required to attend a minimum of two days, to ensure they receive the required 15 hours of a Kindergarten program.

Meet the Manager

Geny

Centre Director

My Name is Geny and I have worked for the Y in multiple educator roles and management roles for over 20 years.

My current role is the centre director for Mill Park Heights Childcare Centre and The Heights Kindergarten.

My passion is to ensure all children are empowered and have a voice in a safe, nurturing, inclusive environment.

Building strong relationships with families and children is a huge focus for the team. We work together to ensure all children in our care are provided with rich learning experiences and are given life skills to take with them after their early years journey.

I hope every child in our care leaves us with great memories of their time with us and looks back at the team as positive role models.
