2022, what a big year it has been.
This year we celebrated our 5th birthday party, completed a full year without disruptions (lockdowns or remote learning) we welcomed many new families, children and staff across kinder and LDC, as well as stage one of the outdoor yard being revamped.
This year we introduced 2 community markets for our families, educators & the community which were a great success with over 2000 people attending these events. We also were able to celebrate many events in person, such as community walks , excursions , Mothers & Father’s Day celebrations , graduations and a visit from Dan Andrews to highlight a few.
In 2022 across the 12 months, we had 34,221 children attend either LDC, sessional or both, no wonder the team is tired.
At this time the year it does become emotional for us educators as we do say goodbye to many children and families, as they commence their educational journey into Primary school. This year we have said farewell to over 110 children.
Not only are we saying farewell to many children and families, but we are also saying goodbye to a few educators who are moving onto other Kinders and roles, thankfully for us remaining at the Y. So, we would like to wish Jodie, Bec D and Alicia all the best with your new adventure. Early 2023 we will also be saying goodbye for a short period of time to Bec W, Vicki, and Elise as they welcome additions to their family. We also have a few other educators who will join them in the new year, but this is still a little surprise.
I would personally like to thank the amazing team at ORCELC for a fantastic year.
On behalf of the team, I would like to thank all the families for your continued support, your kind words and (constructive) feedback throughout the year. The team and I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and Happy and Healthy New Year and we look forward to seeing what 2023 brings us all at ORCELC.
