Diwali
On Thursday the 4th Diwali started, educators and children learnt about this celebration and how we could implement this into our program. Diwali is the Hindu festival of lights, children completed art work to symbolise this day.
Preparing for our graduation and school
Our Kinder children and teachers have been very busy the past couple of weeks getting organised for their upcoming graduation. Getting their dance moves and singing ready to perform for everyone. Due to covid unfortunately our graduation will be filmed and the link sent out to our families. We can’t wait to see this magnificent performance and all our Kinder children graduate.
Our Kinder teachers have been very busy ensuring all of our kinder friends are prepared for school, practicing our writing and pencil grip, learning about patterns, learning to spell their names & different words we use every day.
Sustainability at MPHCCC
We have continued with our sustainability here at MPHCCC, with our sustainability champion Lyndy, it has been amazing seeing not only our children but educators getting involved in more things to do with sustainability. Our beautiful Vegetable Garden and flowers are in full spring and enjoying Melbourne’s weather. Children and educators have taken the responsibility and ensuring not only our yard is cleaned but our beautiful plants & vegetables are watered and cared for. Along with Vicki, Chani and the help of our children we have incorporated these vegetables into our dishes.
Children have been amazing helping Lyndy to weed the garden to keep it nice and tidy.
As previously mentioned, the Nursery children have created a little vertical garden in their yard, and the flowers are flourishing! The children have been amazing, ensuring their plants are watered & cared for.
Community garden
Lyndy gathered some of our herbs from the garden and created little bundles for our families to take home to use in their cooking. As children have been so excited seeing and being part of the process of incorporating our herbs and veggies into our cooking, we thought it would be a fantastic idea to roll this over to home. We have had a lot of feedback from families that this has been a big discussion among the children at home. All bunches were gone so quickly we will continue to offer this for our families.
Finishing of 2021
Our educators have been very busy getting their end of year summative assessments completed and ready for the children’s new educators for next year. We have also been getting things prepared for the month of December (CHRISTMAS)! Organising gifts for the children to create and decorate for their families. We are looking forward to our kinder graduation & the children’s Christmas party to celebrate!
