Term 3 was very busy at Galada Kindergarten.
The children started the term by exploring the Indigenous culture as they participated in hands-on activities related to NAIDOC Week. Exploring different cultures led us to develop and enhance children’s understanding of the importance of friendships and peace within our environments. The groups continued their nature walks, inspiring the children to collect nature and incorporate it into art and craft activities, resulting in receiving unique creations inspired by Indigenous art.
Our strong focus in Term 3 was also healthy eating. The children created the food pyramid and used it to explore the healthy food options. The children also participated in cooking activities which supported the children in developing their understanding of healthy food and “sometimes” food.
As part of Book Week, the children had the opportunity to dress up as their favourite book characters and used their imagination and creativity to create their own books, enhancing their vocabulary.
We have also celebrated the most important person in the children’s lives this term. For that occasion, the children had the opportunity to invite their family members to visit them at the centre and together celebrate that special day. We were thrilled to see parents and grandparents spending their time at our centre, participating in various activities, and having afternoon tea with the children.
In August, our centre went through accreditation (Assessment and Rating process) and we are thrilled to announce that we received an overall Meeting rating.
In September, we celebrated an Educator’s Day. It was a day when we acknowledge all our amazing staff for their hard work and dedication.
