Term 2 was very exciting for our children at Galada Kindergarten!
The children participated in various educational activities and acknowledged special days and celebrations including ANZAC day, Ramadan, Mother’s Day, and most recent Reconciliation Week.
Throughout the term, our educators demonstrated to the children the importance of building positive relationships and promoting peace and kindness in our environments. This was achieved by providing the children with opportunities to work in groups which supported their confidence, resilience, agency, and supported children’s emotional and social development.
Some of our groups began to participate in a Story Time provided in our community centre as well as borrowing books from the local library. This promoted the development of children’s curiosity, language skills and positive behaviours in a social setting.
There was also a focus on promoting healthy eating by providing educational programs such as cooking and exploring various vegetables and fruits during group times. The children demonstrated their knowledge of healthy food and “sometimes food”.
The safety of the children is paramount and therefore, we introduced the evacuation rehearsal with the children each month which also included the whole building evacuation including the community service.
This practice opened the doors to meaningful conversations with the children about their safety and allowed us to explore and implement our Safeguarding Framework more in depth.
This term we have our Book Fair, and we strongly encourage all families to support our fundraising. All funds raised will go towards the additional resources for the children.
