This year has flown by so quickly and there has been so much happening this term at Galada. It was a culmination of a busy and very fun year – full of learning experiences, building relationships, and nurturing children’s interests. We incorporated learning about mindfulness and healthy eating throughout the term which will help establish healthy habits and positive mental health. We encouraged the children to try to keep their eyes closed and their minds on just the experience of trying to explore how each session made them feel. They expressed happiness, tingling feelings, warmth, and many other expressions of feelings were communicated and discussed.
In term 4 we celebrated Halloween, with the children coming to kindergarten in their favourite costumes, exploring new characters and fun Halloween themed activities. This term we also celebrated the wonderful Hindu festival of lights, Diwali, which celebrates new beginnings and signifies peace and joy. The children in all the groups learned about Diwali through books, learning activities, cooking and crafts. The children also had their photo day to highlight this important part of their lives and to preserve the special memories they made at Galada.
Lastly, to highlight all our efforts, learning and growth as we move on to the next chapter we held graduation ceremonies for the children to celebrate their achievements. The children enjoyed the experience of performing their favourite songs and dances and received their graduation certificates.
For all our children heading off to explore new adventures next year, we will miss seeing your faces around Galada but hope you keep in contact through emails, phone calls, postcards and visits! And for those coming back, we are so excited to have more time to spend together playing and learning.
