As the weather gets cooler, we have been spending more time indoors and using our imaginations to come up with new activities for the winter. For example, we have been telling stories using props and improvising with recycled materials.
We have also been enjoying ooey, gooey mud play. Not only is this messy mud play a lot of fun, it also provides the children with the opportunity to explore, hypothesise and develop their scientific knowledge about liquid density.
Celebrations
We enjoyed a visit from the Easter Bunny who left us some delicious treats around the centre! In preparation for the Easter weekend, we enjoyed Easter themed activities like dress-ups, arts and crafts.
We had an amazing week celebrating Holi and Harmony Week. We read many books and sang many songs to help us learn more about these holidays. We enjoyed making biscuits with all different colours and creating colourful sand to share with each other.
Welcome Charlie
We are so excited to welcome our new turtle Charlie. We celebrated his arrival by creating paper plate turtles and talking about how we will share the way we care for him. Charlie has been great for teaching responsibility and a sense of care.
Onto term 2
We would like to acknowledge the staff that will be leaving for maternity leave. We hope that Surbhi, Melanie and Ash enjoy the coming weeks and wish them all the luck in the world!
The term of celebrations has not only been a lot of fun but have provided amazing learning opportunities. We can’t wait for the next term!
