Educators Day
On the 1st of September, we celebrated Educators Day. It was great that we were able to take the time to acknowledge and celebrate all our wonderful teachers! Julie put on a delicious lunch and provided all educators with a special gift just to say thank you.
Sustainability at MPHCCC
At MPHCCC, we have been focusing on sustainability with our sustainability champion Lyndy. Our beautiful Vegetable Garden and flowers are flourishing! Children and educators have taken the responsibility and ensuring not only our yard is clean, but our beautiful plants & vegetables are watered and cared for. Along with Vikki and the help of our children we have incorporated these vegetables into our dishes.
In the nursery, children have created a little vertical garden in their yard. One family was generous enough to donate a few plants to get things going. Children were able to choose which plant they would like to put in their pot. Along with the nursery educators, children will be taking care and watching as these beautiful plants grow.
Our Neighbourhood Birds
We have been lucky enough to witness our neighbourhood pigeons get ready to have their family. The pigeons chose a tree in the nursery yard, so children have been able to witness the pigeons create their nest. Each room has been able to come and visit the birds which has been a great opportunity for our children and educators to further learn about the life cycle of birds. This has been an ongoing project.
Our educators have been very busy ensuring that our children & families are still getting their program whilst at home with remote learning. During this time, it has been quite difficult for our children and their learning, so this is a great way to keep in touch with our children and still see them excited about learning.
