An Individual Learning Plan (ILP) in early childhood settings is a personalised educational roadmap designed to support the unique learning needs, interests, and developmental goals/focus of each child in our care.
An ILP sets out your child’s learning goals, focus on children’s strengths/interests, and preferred learning styles. It also describes:
– Nurturing your child’s growth and development
– Access to support plans from allied health team – (OT, Speech notes)
– Adjustments that the Centre can make to help your child learn
– Strategies and resources to ensure your child meets their goals/focus areas
– Methods for monitoring your child’s progress against the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
The goal of an Individual Learning Plan is to provide a structured yet flexible approach to early childhood education that respects and nurtures the individuality of each child, promoting optimal growth and development. An ILP gives your child the support they need to participate and learn in ways that work for them.
