Outdoor Transformation
Term 2 at Galada Kindergarten was full of excitement and changes. We experienced a total transformation of our outdoor area, which was the biggest highlight of the last two months. The process was challenging but also had many positives as it forced us as a team to work even more closely with each other, navigating use of the yard between all groups. The work on the yard has been completed, and now the children can fully explore the new environment.
Mother’s Day Celebrations
In May, we celebrated Mother’s Day. It was the first time since 2019 when all the mums could join us to celebrate that day. The children presented their mums and/or the special female person with gifts, cookies and songs and shared a morning or afternoon tea with them.
Bucket Feeling Activity
Throughout the term, our teachers, concentrated on developing children’s knowledge around feelings, friendships, and kindness. They introduced the bucket feeling activity, which has been designed for developing children’s awareness about the importance of a positive approach to others and building relationships. The 4-year-old kindergarten groups started to work on the “The Resilience Project” to also support children’s mental health and develop their resilience.
Our staff attended some of the developmental trainings including the “understanding sensory processing” training to allow us to fully support all the children with sensory processing difficulties.
