Our centre

Built in 2014, Galada Kindergarten is part of the Galada Community Centre. The centre is opposite the Aurora Village shopping precinct in Epping and close to three local primary schools:

  • Epping Views PS
  • Harvest Home PS
  • St. Mary of the Cross MacKillop.

We deliver 3-year-old and 4-year-old kindergarten programs to over 230 children each week. Our curriculum reflects the National Quality Framework and Victoria Early Years Learning Frameworks

Families provide snacks and lunches. However, cooking is an important part of our curriculum. Children participate in making cakes to celebrate their peers’ birthdays. We use vegetables grown in our garden in cooking with the children and celebrations with families and the community.

We like to engage with the children so they can have a voice in their education. The children help set up the room to maximise their learning. We also encourage the children to set up and pack away their own activities.

Creating different play and learning areas

Our centre has 3 large 33-place rooms helping us create different play and learning areas. Each room has recycled, natural and other materials. They also have large windows providing plenty of natural light that creates a calm environment for children.

There are also quiet places allowing children to reflect and have time to themselves.

Galada kindergarten has a stimulating outdoor space with mud patch, sandpit and bike track. Our covered outdoor play space protects the children throughout the year.

Building open communication

Building lines of open communication with families is important to us. We use different methods such as face-to-face chats, email and Storypark. We have a culturally-diverse staff which often helps us communicate with families.

Storypark is an online platform that helps track a child’s progress, upcoming events and other announcements in the Galada community.

We can’t wait to meet you and be part of your child’s early learning journey!

Team leader Renata Wozniak

Renata Wozniak

Early Years Team Leader

My name is Renata and I am a Centre Director at Galada Kindergarten.

I commenced my passion for working with children in 2006 in London and I have been working for YMCA since 2017. Over those years my roles have included Co-Educator, Room Leader, Educational Leader, Kindergarten Teacher, Long Day Care Coordinator and a Centre Director.

So far, it has been an amazing and very rewarding journey for me, which gives me the opportunity to not only participate in children’s development but also to grow and develop my own skills every day.

I am extremely passionate about children’s growth and I believe that families and wider community play an important role in children’s education. I believe that it is important for everyone to work together to provide the children with the best learning opportunities.

I trust that my positive attitude and welcoming nature will help to build trusting relationships with all families, children, staff members and members of our community.
